About Jungle Flow
Two owners, a few hand-picked guides, and the rivers we know best.
Jungle Flow is Kayla and Manuel. We plan every trip ourselves, and most days one of us is on the river with you.

The two of us
Kayla Angstadt has been guiding since 2008 and living in Costa Rica for fifteen years. She also runs Cross-Cultural Connect, a nonprofit bringing students through the country.
- American Canoe Association (ACA) Level 4 Kayak Instructor
- ACA Level 4 Swiftwater Rescue Instructor
- Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), Pennsylvania
- CPR and First Aid
- Yoga instructor
- Certified school teacher
Manuel Fallas Calvo was born and raised in Turrialba and has guided just about everything here — rivers, trails, bikes, birds. If there’s a better way to do a day, he knows it.
- Certified Costa Rican tour guide
- ACA Level 4 Swiftwater Rescue Instructor
- CPR and First Aid

The guides we choose
When it isn’t one of us, it’s a highly qualified guide we picked ourselves, one by one. We pay our guides among the best in the country, on purpose. A good guide is the biggest part of a safe trip, and of a great one.
